Diet for Longevity

Last week I attended the American College of Physician Scientific Meeting in New Orleans. New important information about nutrition was revealed. Recently gene directed pharmacotherapy has grow, but the future shows the possibility of gene directed nutrition. This means that nutrition will be directed individually, knowing which nutrients are needed depending genetic predisposition to disease or individual requirements. Micronutrition, which means, vitamins, minerals and alternative beneficial nutrients also could be included in individual studies. Gene directed treatment seems to be the future.
Mediterranean diet is the rule, decreasing markedly cardiovascular risk and complications. This means fish, vegetables, extra-virgin olive oil, beans, nuts, legumes and integral bread or pasta. Cardiovascular disease in general and even joint related diseases are primary of inflamatory nature. White sugar, white flour and process food accelerate and promote inflamation. High concentration of antioxidants are inminent in our diet. Baseline 1,000 mg of Omega 3 fish oil, red wine or acai (more concentrate and potent antioxidant without alcohol)  should be implemented as daily routine. As all we know we have to think organic. Process food and actual protocols are detrimental to our health. Follow this and surf as old as you can, enjoy the ride, life is short!
